North Florida Regional Planning Area and Western Water Supply Planning Area

The Suwannee River Water Management District is in the process of updating Water Supply Plans for all of the counties in the District. We welcome all feasible water conservation, water supply development and water resource development project options from water users in the North Florida Regional Planning Area and the Western Water Supply Planning Area. The inclusion of a project in a water supply plan does not obligate the project sponsor to build the project nor does it guarantee funding. However, submitting a project provides visibility and prioritized funding consideration for feasible projects.

The District is working together with the St Johns River Water Management District to update the North Florida Regional Water Supply Plan (NFRWSP). This includes Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Columbia, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Suwannee, Union counties. The identification of feasible project options that water users may choose to implement in order to meet their future water needs (s. 373.0361, F.S.) is a key component of the plan. More information about the planning effort can be found at www.northfloridawater.com. Please submit your project proposals by April 28, 2023.

In addition, the Suwannee River Water Management District is also in the process of conducting a constraints analysis for the Western Water Supply Plan. This includes Dixie, Jefferson, Lafayette, Levy, Madison, and Taylor counties. Upon completion, there will be a public workshop and a project solicitation phase. More information can be found at https://www.mysuwanneeriver.com/1605/Water-Supply-Assessment-Plan.

If you are interested in submitting project(s) for the plan in support of these efforts, please utilize the District’s Conceptual Project Portal to submit proposals.
