Most District rainfall stations have had less than a half-inch of rainfall in March as of Monday (3/30/2020). The long-term March average is 4.42" but this month the last substantial rainfall in north Florida took place in the first week of March. The 1932 - 2019 minimum rainfall Districtwide is 0.16" (March 1945). The lowest recent total for the month of March was in 2006, when the Districtwide total was 0.47" inches. Residents are cautioned to postpone outdoor burning until conditions become less dry. Today's Florida Forest Service Fire Danger Index Report indicates moderate fire danger Districtwide.
