LIVE OAK, FLA., May 14, 2019 – The Suwannee River Water Management District (District) and Alachua Conservation Trust (ACT) are hosting a ribbon cutting for the grand opening of the J.H. Anderson Jr., Memorial Park on Friday, May 31 at 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Bell, Florida. The park encompasses 175-acres along the Suwannee River and provides land access to Rock Bluff Spring.
The District acquired the land to protect Rock Bluff Spring and increase recreational opportunities within Gilchrist County. ACT has partnered with the District to manage the spring and park.
The grand opening will include an opening ceremony and ribbon cutting, as well as guided hikes, swimming and plant walks. The District, along with ACT, will have staff available to answer questions about the park.
