[ARCHIVED] SRWMD announces changes to Governing Board streaming process

LIVE OAK, FLA., NOVEMBER 21, 2023 – As of its December Governing Board meeting, the Suwannee River Water Management District (District) will be implementing changes to its online livestream feed and public comment process.

At the December 12 Governing Board meeting, the District will begin streaming its meetings via YouTube. This online tool will enhance user features by adding closed captioning to the feed for those watching the stream remotely.

This will also reduce the requirement of added software downloads for participants, and users can simply click on a link to watch the meeting from the District website or via the District YouTube channel.

Comments will continue to be accepted in person during the meeting or submitted in written form through the public comment form on the District’s website. Written comments will be read by the Governing Board Chair, if indicated, and included in the record. The District no longer allows live public comment via phone or online platforms.

These changes enhance the user experience and bring the District into better consistency with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and other water management districts.

To view District Governing Board meetings and submit public comment, visit www.MySuwanneeRiver.com for more information.

The mission of the Suwannee River Water Management District is to protect and manage water resources using science-based solutions to support natural systems and the needs of the public. Headquartered in Live Oak, Florida, the District serves 15 surrounding north-central Florida counties.
