[ARCHIVED] SRWMD Seeks Public Comments on Draft SWIM Plans

LIVE OAK, FLA., Sept. 8, 2017 – The Suwannee River Water Management District (District) is consolidating and revising its Surface Water Improvement and Management (SWIM) plans and welcomes comments on the draft Suwannee River Basin SWIM Plan and draft Coastal Rivers Basin SWIM Plan.

The plans identify priority water bodies based on their regional significance and need for protection and management.

The District’s SWIM plans are available for comment at, search “SWIM Plan Updates.” All comments should be sent to and need to be submitted by November 1, 2017.

The mission of the Suwannee River Water Management District is to protect and manage water resources using science-based solutions to support natural systems and the needs of the public.
