Please join Current Problems, Karst Environmental/Karst Productions, and WUFT at Otter Springs on Oct. 24 for a cleanup in the floodplain and spring run. We will begin work at 10 a.m. so plan to be there somewhat earlier.
Otter Springs is a Gilchrist County-run park owned by the Suwannee River Water Management District on the Suwannee River, and it could use your help.
Be sure to wear clothes that can get wet and dirty, and your shoes should be close-toed for safety reasons. Other items to consider are work gloves, a hat, sunscreen, bug repellent and a water bottle.
Lunch will be provided to volunteers. WUFT will give out T-shirts to volunteers for as long as they last. We will work into the afternoon sometime. You may bring a canoe or kayak if you want to work in the spring run. All other work will be on foot.
If you would like further information, call Fritzi Olson at 352-264-6827, Pete Butt at 386-454-3556 or e-mail Current Problems at aar@currentproblems.org.
